EHC Artists Initiative

Call for Artists!

The Equine History Collective is launching a new artist initiative to showcase equine artists and connect our members to artisans with experience representing equines in a variety of mediums. This is an opportunity to directly exchange ideas and create contacts with other equine artists, researchers, and professionals, and offers an online directory listing and a customizable gallery of sample work at our annual conference. If you wish to stay updated on upcoming EHC events, please join our mailing list

Artists of all types and skill levels, working in any medium, are invited to submit a listing for this initiative. While equine art is the central focus, other animal artists may also be considered. Artists knowledgeable about horse anatomy and harness are particularly valuable for research-related commissions of reference images for publication. The EHC and its membership have employed artists for both professional and personal use. Sample services that EHC membership could request include

  • EHC logos, flyers, shirts, and conference items.
  • Illustrations and diagrams for publications.
  • Equine fine art for home and office.
  • Trophies and other awards.
  • Educational infographics.
  • Member business cards and related items.
  • Keepsakes and memorials.

Artist Listing

The EHC requests a donation for each listing: $15 for an amateur or part time artist; $35 for full time artists; or $50 for institutional listings. Artists may also submit a design for EHC use, and if selected in this round, receive a waiver for an artist listing fee.

An EHC Artist Listing includes
