Our 2022 EHC conference ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ is being hosted by Purdue University’s  Extension Program, which runs fantastic education programs that aim to ‘deliver practice, research-based information that enhances lives and livelihoods.’  This includes the Purdue Extension Horses program.

Horses are a big part of Purdue University. It is home to the Purdue Large Animal Hospital , The Caesars Entertainment Equine Speciality Hospital, the Equine Sports Medicine Center, and a number of veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing programs, as well as a range of equine/agriculture related clubs, including the Purdue Rodeo Team  ,the Purdue Equestrian Team, and the Purdue Western Equestrian Team.

Conference registrants will have the opportunity to learn more about Purdue’s campus equine highlights through a virtual tour, courtesy of Dr. Colleen Brady (who has been an important part of our conference planning process). Dr. Brady is a Horse Extension Specialist, who focuses her engagement work toward youth and adults working with horses. Dr. Brady collaborates with Equine Extension Specialists nationally as a member of the Leadership team for Extension Horses, Inc., and eXtension HorseQuest, and internationally with the International Society of Equitation Science.

Purdue University is a world renowned, public research university located in West Lafayette, Indiana. It was founded in 1869, and its first classes began in 1874. For the past four years it has been named one of the top ten most innovative universities in America. Their teams are known as the ‘Boilermakers’ and a popular catch phrase on campus is ‘Boiler up!’ – so be sure to check out the ‘Boiler Up! Stables’ to take part in some interactive activities as part of our EHC virtual conference experience.
