EHC 2021: Registration Now Live!

Registration is now live for the EHC 2021 virtual conference “Equine Ecologies & Economies,” hosted by the Cal Poly Pomona University Library. We hope to see you there!

When: Thursday and Friday, March 25–26, beginning at 8am Pacific Time each day. Note that the US enters Daylight Saving Time two weeks before many other countries (March 14 vs. March 28).

Registration: You can register using this link. The rates are below. Note that there are discounted rates for those who have joined our new paid membership program, launched in January. To learn more about paid membership, please visit our membership page.

  • $21 – Non-Member Reduced (student, retired, or underemployed)
  • $25 – Member Regular
  • $15 – Member Reduced (student, retired, or underemployed)

Platform: The conference will take place over Zoom. All registrants will receive a Zoom link with instructions as the conference draws nearer.

Other features: Besides offering a slate of fabulous papers followed by Q&A, the conference will also include:

  • Equine History Collective Working Group. There will be a special information session to discuss the EHC’s new working group, which seeks to define the historiography of “equine and equestrian history” and to develop new standards for the emerging field.
  • Meet the Editors of the Journal Cheiron: The International Journal of Equine and Equestrian History. This is a new, biannual journal facilitating a debate in equine and equestrian studies across chronological periods and disciplines. The first issue will appear in 2021.
  • Slack Coffee Rooms. We will set up various topic-specific channels during the conference so that everyone – despite the fact that the conference is virtual – still has the chance to network and discuss a variety of equine subjects.

Conference Merchandise: The EHC is proud to present an Equine Ecologies & Economies coffee mug featuring our new logo designed by Christian Krueger. Order your mug today at https://www.bonfire.com/ehc-equine-ecologies-and-economies/. Most U.S. orders placed before March 8th should ship in time for the conference!
